Explore All Bioscience Programs at UW-Madison

There are many Graduate Programs in which mycology researchers train PhD students. When you apply to UW-Madison, you can apply to three programs for a single admission fee. Because most fungal researchers take students from many different programs, you can investigate multiple programs to find a good fit. There are also different levels of competition to get into different programs (but once you are in a lab, the training is very similar).

Students studying in Fungal Biology labs generally come from the following programs:

  • Microbiology Doctoral Training Program
  • Cellular and Molecular Biology Program
  • Genetics Training Program
  • Plant Pathology
  • Botany
  • Cellular and Molecular Pathology
  • Molecular and Environmental Toxicology
  • Comparative Biosciences (direct admit only program)
  • Pharmaceutical Sciences
  • Biomedical Engineering

We encourage you to explore widely and find programs that provide the best fit for you!
